A |     Awarapan 2 is turning into one of the most awaited films of 2026. The craze around the first film is still strong, and Emraan Hashmi’s recent cameo in The Ba***ds Of Bollywood has only added more excitement. Now the buzz has grown even further with Shabana Azmi has officially joined the cast.                A source revealed, “Shabana Azmi has come on board for Awarapan 2. The role is apt for her and she was more than happy to bag the coveted part. It is an interesting and powerful creative decision by producer Vishesh Bhatt that significantly intensifies the film’s emotional core and conflict. Interestingly, this marks Shabana Azmi’s first ever collaboration with Vishesh Films.” The source also highlighted her fresh pairing with Emraan Hashmi, saying, “Also, Awarapan 2 marks her first on screen pairing with Emraan Hashmi, creating a new and formidable dramatic tension audiences have never seen before. Moreover, the casting is in sync with the trademark Bhatt storytelling ethos anchored in strong performances, morally complex characters and emotionally charged drama.”     For now, the makers are keeping the specifics of Shabana Azmi’s role completely secret. The source added, “All the details remain tightly under wraps. The makers are expected to officially reveal it in a few weeks.” With her entry, the film now brings together an interesting mix of Emraan Hashmi, Shabana Azmi and Disha Patani, and more cast announcements may be on the way.                Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 recently completed a long schedule in Bangkok and is expected to finish shooting by January 2026. Set for release on April 3, 2026, the film has now moved beyond being just a sequel and is positioned as a prestige thriller that blends scale, emotion and strong performances, especially with Shabana Azmi joining the project.Also Read: Shabana Azmi Lauds Farhan Akhtar’s Performance in 120 Bahadur。    (ECNS) -- More than 2,000 humanoid robots from 16 countries will compete at the second World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing from Aug. 22 to 26, a sports official said Thursday.     A total of 666 teams and 2,056 robots have registered, said Yu Qingfeng, director of the Beijing Sports Bureau and executive deputy director of the Games’ organizing committee.        The Games will feature 1,301 contests across 51 events at the National Speed Skating Oval, also known as the “Ice Ribbon.”    Highlights include robot soccer, with participants now able to dribble while running, take powerful shots and dive to make saves.    Robots will also compete in combat, weightlifting and dance, while other events will test practical skills such as emergency response, hotel services and fine movements like picking up beans and tightening screws.    Dance events have attracted 108 teams, up from 29 last year, with robots set to compete in street dance, ballroom dance and cheerleading.             Competition standards have been tightened, with the 100-meter race time limit cut from three minutes to one, and most events required to be completed autonomously.     (By Helen Mo, intern Yang Hongran)                    。
